Friday Night movies
There is a free drive-in movie on Fridays in Irving’s Parks and Recreation Department because it turns its parking lots into rec center sites. Make sure to register because the number of parking spots is limited. Don’t forget your mask.
You can bring your snacks and drinks, but smoking and drinking alcohol is not allowed. Here the list of movies playing and it’s available dates for September.

Sara Hickman
Poor David’s Pub will stream a concert by Texas singer-songwriter Sara Hickman for FREE. This is Sara Hickman’s first show since retiring from public performances in March 2017. It will be live-streamed on Sept 17, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. CDT at facebook.com/poordavidspub.
Southfork Ranch Fall Concert Series
Tribute bands bring the music of the Beatles, Blues Brothers, and more to iconic Southfork Ranch, known as the home of the fictional J.R. Ewing clan from the hit TV show Dallas. Socially distanced concerts will take place on four Friday evenings Sept. 4-Oct. 2 (no show on Sept 11).
Guests can enjoy music from their “viewing pods,” 13 x 25-foot spaces marked off in the Southfork parking lot. Each pod accommodates up to six guests. All recommended public health precautions will be observed. Food and beverages (including alcohol) will be available for purchase. The ticket costs $20 and schedules are the following;

Dinosaurs Live! at the Heard
They are located at the Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary in McKinney to visit ten life-size animatronic dinosaurs. An outdoor fossil dig, a play area, and photo op are also featured. The 289-acre wildlife sanctuary is also home to hundreds of birds, reptiles, and other wild critters.

Rowlett Movies on Main
Drive into Rowlett Community Park for family-friendly movies every Friday night in September. Viewers are obliged to watch from inside their vehicles or truck beds. You’ll get free tickets but must be reserved online. Parking spots will be first-come, first-served.

Dallas Chocolate Festival
According to dallasnews, the 2020 Dallas Chocolate Festival is an online event with a twist due to safety concerns. This year’s festival, “The World of Chocolate – In a Box”, focuses on bringing the chocolate experience to virtual attendees’ homes! The full-access festival pass includes a box of chocolate samples from chocolate companies around the world and virtual classes and tastings. The chocolate box is $50 plus a $10 delivery fee.
